Replaces original PR #45: #45

The original installation hardening is still relevant, but its branch conflicts with current main because later releases advanced the synchronized version files from 2.0.2 to 2.0.13.

This replacement preserves the original behavior and documentation:

  • seed install-smoke with a stale standalone executable and prove make install replaces it with the exact bundle symlink;
  • document that jdrive-bin must remain inside the native bundle;
  • resolve the version conflicts by advancing VERSION, jdrive/cli.ss, and jpkg.sexp together to 2.0.14.

Verification observed on macOS arm64:

  • jerboa_check_balance jdrive/cli.ss: Balance OK
  • make test security: 23 tests passed; package security and secret scan passed
  • make binary binary-smoke install-smoke: passed; the installed bundle smoke verified the replacement symlink and launched successfully
  • git diff --cached --check: passed before commit
